The Xbox was a video gaming console created by Microsoft's branch of video games known as Microsoft Game Studios. It was the console that started Microsoft's video game era, which put in even more competition to the video gaming industries, competing with Nintendo, Sega, and Sony Entertainment's Playstation video game companies, however was the first video gaming console with online play availability.

It was released in North America in November 15 2001, in Japan on February 22, 2002, and in Europe and Australia on March 14, 2002. It's successor, the Xbox 360, was released on November 22, 2005. The last game released for the Xbox was Madden NFL 2009, released on August 12, 2008.

  • CPU: 32-bit 733 MHz, Pentium III-based, custom Intel Coppermine-based processor in a Micro-PGA2 package (though soldered to the mainboard using BGA). 180 nm process.
